I love these, though I try not to eat
them too frequently. Cooked and
mashed plantains filled with refried beans, cream, or cheese and then
deep-fried and covered in sugar, I’ve yet to decide which is my favorite. Sweet and filling, they are perfect for
breakfast or a mid-morning snack.
Best eaten while hot. Yum!

My mouth is watering right now looking at them. We dont have any here in Chalate where we live, but my friend and I used to eat them in Los Planes from vendors all the time. Yum!
ReplyDeleteHola Gringa in El Salvador,
ReplyDeleteThanks for writing! They are something special, and such a treat! I'm thinking when we return to California I'll attempt to make them...but until then, they're fun to seek out here.
